What Amazon keyword research tools are the best for private labeling?
I get this question quite often and finding the right keywords for your product is crucial! Without ranking for relevant keywords, it will be very hard to succeed.
Now that you’ve found a good product, it’s time to put it in front of the buyers on Amazon. These tools will help you find keywords and prioritize them. After finding your search terms, you also need to figure out which ones are the most important…
1. Sonar Tool
Sonar-Tool is an awesome FREE tool that helps when doing your keyword research.
Aside from the free price tag, the best feature is being able to reverse ASIN research any competitors product. By doing this, you’ll be able to see what keywords are working for them
The main features are :
- Reverse ASIN Search
- Search Volume – but only represented by bars from 1 to 5
- Frequent Words – most common words showing up in the search terms
- Ability to Download Results – the CSV that is download isn’t formatted that well but still provides great data
2. Viral Launch
The Viral Launch Amazon keyword tool is a paid service but provides search volume estimates for each keyword.
By providing the search volumes for both exact match and broad match, it will help you see which terms are going to help you rank the most. BUT with any keyword tool these are just ESTIMATES… so don’t live or die by the numbers. Only use them to prioritize your terms
The main features are :
- Priority Score
- Relevance Score
- Exact and Broad Match Search Volume
- Suggested Cost Per Click Bid
- Downloadable Result Data
3. Keyword Scout by Jungle Scout
If you already have the Jungle Scout Web App, the newest addition is the Keyword Scout
Similar to the Viral Launch tool, they provide ESTIMATED search volumes and related keyword. The Keyword Scout stands out with the ability to reverse search products ASINs
The main features that are different are :
- Recommended Giveaway Units Per Day – or in other terms, the sales velocity of the top products for that search term
- Headline Search Ad Bid – the estimated cost per click to show up in the headline search position
- Exact and Broad Match PPC Bid – the estimated cost per click for different match type keywords
4. Merchant Words
The Merchant Words research tool is at paid service at $30 per month and $60 per month for the worldwide region plan
The tool is very simple and provides the ESTIMATED search volume for your keyword and related keywords. It’s great to find new relevant terms but lacks when it comes to CPC estimates and doesn’t include reverse ASIN searches
If you’re only selling in the US Amazon marketplace you’ll only need the $30 per month plan
5. AMZ Tracker Deepwords
The AMZ Tracker app has two parts when it comes to keywords on Amazon. The first being the traditional search term results showing different related keywords and ESTIMATED search volumes.
Like with all the keyword research tools, these estimated should only be used to compare keywords to each other when deciding their priority…
The related keywords are very nice to see since they aren’t just the base keyword with suggestions tacked on to the end
The second part of these tool is the ability to track your products rankings for specific keywords. This is very important when selling private label products so you have a full understanding of how your product is performing
As any private label seller knows, you need to continually stay on top of your rankings. The AMZ keyword tracker makes it very easy to automatically do this instead of manually searching every day
6. Keywordtool.io
Keywordtool.io is another paid service starting at $48 per month for the basic service and $68 for the addition of search volume. I think this is on the high end for the amount of data they provide…
No need to pay the full $88 per month since the only difference is the addition of google CPC and competition which is not relevant when doing you keyword research on Amazon
One downside of this tool is that the results they provide are just variations / suggestions of the main keyword. As you can see above, every result starts with “stainless steel tumbler” and has a different variation of the base keyword
They do still provide the basic metrics :
- ESTIMATED Search Volume
- Suggested variation keywords
7. Keyword Tool Dominator
The Keyword Tool Dominator gives you 3 free searches per day, so make the most out of your free searches if you are strapped for cash!
They provide too only provide the suggested variations of the base keyword along with the ability to download the data.
The ranking numbers are how popular the particular term is with 1 being the best and 10 the worst
8. Data Hawk Keyword Tracker
The Data Hawk keyword tracker gives you both ESTIMATED search volumes and automatically tracks the rankings of keywords for your product
They also provide other tools so if you are looking for more tools all in one spot this might be a good option
